A vacancy has arisen for the above post. The position will be based in the Company’s Mechanical Design Office and as such will be a staff position.

Machine variants include:

• Wallcovering print presses.
• Heat Exchanger Production equipment, including core assembly systems, fin mills and tube mills.
• Special purpose web coating equipment.
• Special purpose engineered systems.

The candidate should be able to perform the following duties, reporting directly to the Technical Director

The Role:

• Undertake all aspects of design for machine, conceptual design, detailed design and production of detailed drawings.
• Design in accordance with Machinery Directive including participation in Risk Assessments.
• Design using FMEA techniques.
• Attend regular multi-disciplinary design reviews.
• Production of necessary legislative documentation.
• Generation of ‘Design, Operation and Maintenance’ documentation.
• Monitoring of budgets and project plans.
• Liaison with customers and suppliers.
• Provide support to Mechanical (build) department with particular emphasis on Start-up and ongoing support
• Provision of customer support, as required.
• This role may require some travel (including overseas) as projects demand.

The Person:

• Experienced user of 3D Autodesk Inventor v10 and AutoCAD 2D.
• Preferably a ‘Time Served’ Mechanical Engineer with a sound understanding of mechanical systems.
• Preferably knowledge of web transport and/or winding equipment.
• Must be HNC / HND or Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Must be well presented and posses good interpersonal skills.
• Potential candidates will be required to work as and when required to complete projects within allocated timescales.
